This area is known throughout the world for its roots in jazz. Legendary saxophonist Charlie "Yardbird" Parker began his ascent to fame here in the 1930s. Visit 18th & Vine and do a "jazz club crawl"!
Westport, at Broadway and Westport Road, is a neat area of town, especially if you are looking for some night life. Once an outfitting post for wagons heading West, today it's known for its medley of cafes, nightclubs, galleries and boutiques. Venues abound for live music and dancing in Historic Westport.

For those that want to try their luck there are several "riverboat casinos."
